According to the latest statistics released by the market research agency IDC, the global personal computer (PC) shipments in the third quarter of 2023 fell again year-on-year, but increased by 11% sequentially. IDC believes that the global PC shipments in the third quarter of 2023 were 68.2 million units, showing a downward spiral. It was down 7.6% from a year earlier. Although demand and the global economy remain sluggish, PC shipments have increased in each of the past two quarters, slowing the annual decline and indicating that the market has come out of the trough.
Data show that HP shipped 13.5 million units in the third quarter, the only positive growth in the TOP5 manufacturers, an increase of 6.4%.
Lenovo ranked first with 16 million units, accounting for 23.5% of the market, down 5.0% from 16.9 million units in the same period last year.
Dell shipped 10.3 million units in the quarter, representing a 15.0% market share, down 14.3% from 12 million units in the same period last year.
Apple shipped 7.2 million units in the quarter, accounting for 10.6% of the market, down 23.1% from 9.4 million units in the same period last year.
Asustek shipped 4.9 million units in the quarter, representing a 7.1% market share, down 10.7% from 5.4 million units in the same period last year.
